Greetings from Afghanland

Boys,
Just wanted to say thanks for showing up for me on such short notice. That was very nice to see all of you again, and it made coming home that much better. I know you couldn't make it Aaron, but I understand and apologize for such short notice...

Life isn't too bad here besides the whole 'war' thing, but you learn to manage... Anyway, I just wanted to tell you guys thanks and tell you all I love you, as cheesy as that might sound, I guess when your in a place like this and see folks gettin' hurt you tend to tell those your close to you love them a lot'... But I mean that in the most sincere way I can say it... We have all been through a lot of shit together and shared a lot of laughs and a lot of tears... I consider you all my brothers and hope you feel the same towards me... I know we've had our moments of differences, but overall, it's pretty amazing we have all stayed together and this close considering the time and all... Anyway, I wish you all the best and send my greetings from Afghanland...

God bless,

Greg

Gregor,

That was a cool thing of you to say! Thanks bro, I love you too. Not much more needs to be said, but I feel the same way as you do about our group friendship. I am proud of you for your service to the country. I can't imagine what it must be like for you over there. I think only Kenny can really sympathize with you. But the cause of freedom for those people is important, and I am proud of you to serve there. You are the man.

I love all you guys a lot. I don't know of any other group of friends that has remained this close from High School. Sometimes I feel like a dumbass cause I really haven't made any close friends since H.S. other than mission buddies. I just keep saying that my HS buddies were cool enough that new friends just can't compete. But I am open to the idea that maybe I am just a social mongoloid.

M-V-H-S! M-V-H-S, the best!

I think we can all echo the love sentiment. Sure it sounds cheesy but we are all husbands and fathers now and there is no need to dance around true emotion. Truly our friendship is something unique. How many more groups of friends do we know that have stuck together this long? Not many. We have shared alot together and I believe we will take these memories through life with us, to be funny stories for our own children and ultimately campfire stories for us to laugh about when we have grand-children. I'm sure we will all be sitting there together too, talking about the dumpkin, football, and pizza hut buffets. Like Gregor said, you are all my brothers and I hope you know you can call on me at anytime for anything...

Brothers,
I feel the same as you guys. We don't get a chance to see eachother except with the stars align. Even though I don't get to see you guys often enough, I wanted to let you know that I think about you. When I hear about your successes, I get happy for you. When I hear that your families are good, it makes my life better. Something happened during those times that forged a relationship that I haven't been able to equal since then. I have filler friends that I hang out with and go to work with, but I know who my buddies are. I know who I would rather play poker with. I know who I would rather go to dinner with. I miss all of you guys: the Blisses, the Dawes, the Johnsons, the Potters. I think that each of you feel the same, that even though we don't see each other, it doesn't mean that we don't like each other. It just means that we are busy being Dad's, Husbands, employees, members of the church. There is no doubt in my mind where my friendship loyalties lye. I love all of you guys. Gregers, I am very very thankful for what you are doing. I don't know that I could do it. You are impressively dedicated and I admire what you are doing in the name of saving freedom. When you get home, we need to all sit down and have a poker night. We can catch up on old times. Maybe we could go do something that would be considered a felony or a misdemeanor class C and see if we can get away with it again.
